This Privacy Policy outlines the strict data handling practices implemented within the Nyxor Browser Integration Chrome extension. Our core principle is absolute data sovereignty: your data remains entirely yours, processed locally on your machine without external interference.
1. Scope of Data Inspection & Functional Intent
The extension executes commands exclusively to interface your web browser with the locally installed Nyxor Download Manager engine. Data analysis is strictly contextual and client-side:
- Web Content & Stream Extraction: The injected scripts inspect active DOM structures to isolate HTML5 multimedia streaming protocols (such as video elements, anchors, and media hooks) to expose the local download overlay.
- Download Event Hooking: The extension intercepts system-initiated download instances solely to transfer file metadata to the desktop application for multi-threaded segment acceleration.
- Authentication Header Continuity (Cookies): To ensure that authenticated or state-dependent file links do not expire during external segmented execution, matching session cookies are temporarily captured and passed directly into your local download queue.
2. Zero-Remote Architecture & Storage Policy
We believe in decentralized utility. The extension features a strict local loopback design:
- Strict Local IPC Channel: All communication, intercepted URLs, and session states are sent exclusively over the internal loopback interface (
http://127.0.0.1:20260/).
- No Cloud Infrastructure: We operate no remote databases, cloud synchronization servers, telemetry mechanisms, or analytics logging trackers. No third party—including us—can access your local downloads.
- Cryptographic Authorization Handshake: Local loopback fetches and posts are locked down via a machine-generated secure token verified via the custom
X-Nyxor-Secret-Token header to prevent unauthorized cross-origin tampering.
3. Data Retention and Lifecycle
Because the extension operates as an immediate pass-through conduit, its data retention lifecycle is zero:
- In-Memory Processing: Intercepted metadata, referrer headers, and session cookie segments exist strictly in volatile memory (RAM) during the brief life of the local HTTP POST request.
- No Local Persistence: The extension does not write to chrome.storage, IndexedDB, or any local cache directory. Once a payload is delivered to the desktop application, it is instantly purged from the extension's lifecycle.
4. User Rights and GDPR/EEA Compliance
In accordance with international data regulations (including GDPR for the European Economic Area):
- Right to Erase/Access: Since the extension stores zero user logs, telemetry records, or identities, there is no personal data retention profile to access or erase. Complete control is retained natively by closing or removing the extension.
5. Non-Commercialization & Zero Data Sharing
Nyxor does not sell, rent, lease, monetize, or transmit any user data, browsing histories, or captured file paths to advertisement networks or any external third-party organizations under any circumstances.
6. Revisions to This Document
This document may be updated periodically to reflect architectural changes or compliance revisions. The latest active revision will always be hosted transparently on our official verified domain.
